From the Principal

It was great to have our Maths Consultant Rob Vingerhoets in last week and have so many students excited about Maths! As equally fantastic was the parent session and turn out for this, on the Tuesday night. If you missed it, don’t worry, Rob will be back next year again for another round of fun with Maths.
A reminder to check emails
I’d just like to remind parents that our main way of communicating with you is via email. While the irony is not lost on me, I understand that if you’re reading this you’re opening and reading your emails! If you hear from other parents that they are not getting communications from the school, please ask them to contact the office and we can check and make sure parents haven’t unintentionally unsubscribed from communications (or changed an email address).
We also use social media to communicate somewhat, however, with the change in algorithms, our messages may not get through to all parents. It is important to be “following” our Facebook Page where possible, otherwise, opening and reading your emails from school is the best way to get our communications.
Cambridge Capabilities
Currently, our students are exploring Wondering for this week and next. For us, Wondering is defined as: Being alive to the remarkable, beautiful and unfamiliar. We believe that Wondering is a key component of being a creative and curious learner.
Wondering is about asking questions, thinking about why something is and can be thought of as an extension to noticing. Wondering means thinking about possibilities and options for what could be and why something might be. Wondering can be done by yourself or in a group. Wondering is an invitational process that can build and extend the more you do it. Being creative and solving problems from diverse perspectives involves wondering.
Please tell us what you think about Wondering as a Cambridge Capability below:
Redevelopment
Our Development Application has been submitted to the Clarence City Council! We will now be awaiting their questions and feedback processes. You should soon be able to view the over 200 pages online. Attached here are some rendered images of the external elements of the proposed new build as a sneak peek. We are currently consulting with staff and (students soon) on the internal layouts and fixtures. Getting ready to go to a tender later in the year.
We will soon be sharing more images and will continue to keep you updated each Newsletter – keep an eye out for displays in our Admin Block too!
Exciting times ahead, it really is a once in a generation opportunity.
See you all soon – Courtney
